Product certification is defined as a procedure by which a third party gives written assurance that a product conforms to specified requirement. Product certification involves the issuance of a certificate or mark (or both) to demonstrate that a particular product meets a defined set of requirements for that product. The certification mark is usually found on the product or its packaging and may also appear on a certificate issued by the product certification body.
